Story of Sweet Delights
About Me and how Sweet Delights came about
Hi! I’m Rachel Weisz, the proud founder and baker behind Sweet Delights – Just Baked Homemade. What began as a simple love for baking has become into a heartfelt business that brings joy, comfort, and a sprinkle of sweetness to homes across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and beyond.
Three years ago, I had a dream: to turn my passion for creating delicious goodies into something more. I didn’t have a business background just a deep desire to share my creations and do what I love. That dream took shape when I joined the Young Business Leaders program with BOB Industries. With just $100 given by Bob and 10 weeks, I learned the essentials: marketing, pricing, customer engagement, and how to build a brand from scratch.
At the end of the program, I showcased my business and was honored to place 1st, alongside winning the Best Showcase Award. That moment was a turning point it for me which opened doors to incredible connections with Logan Council, local supporters, and a growing community that believed in me.
Since then, Sweet Delights has grown faster than I ever imagined. Our year is filled with custom orders, event catering, and even large corporate requests. From branded cookie boxes for team celebrations to dessert platters for company launches, I’ve loved creating treats. I also have a few barista certificates.
But Sweet Delights is more than just baked goods. It’s a reflection of my journey of learning, growing, and making every cookie, cake, cupcake, and macaron. I’m now preparing to teach baking classes, create custom kits, and launch a website that shares not just recipes, but stories, inspiration, and a sense of community.
And now, I’m excited to announce I’ll be making: custom cookie cutters! I’ve started designing and producing my own cutters. This will allow me to sell my own designs and to bring even more detail and personality into my business.
And this is just the beginning. My ultimate dream is to open a café a warm, welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and enjoy freshly baked delights straight from the oven. A place that feels like home, where every treat tells a story and every visitor becomes part of the journey.
On the 7th of June I went to the Beenleigh beats market and I was able to sell and showcase my 3D printed cookie cutters. I had macarons, cookies, cupcakes and desserts cups… Also I sold coffees.
I had Mayor of Logan (Mayor Jon Raven) and his wife (Ail Raven) and a few other council members from Beenleigh and logan come and support my business.
Whether you're here for a treat, a class, or just curious about the path that led me here thank you for stopping by. I’m so excited to have shared this sweet adventure with you.
